      Jane Eyre endures a difficult childhood. As a young girl, she lives with a severe aunt who shows her no warmth. Her escape from this dreadful existence is a bleak charity school which is run by taskmaster.

　　As a young woman, Jane secures a position as governess at Thornfield, a sprawling estate located on the gloomy English moors and owned by Edward Rochester, a curt moody man haunted by a mysterious past. Despite his brusque ways and imperious manner, Jane senses an inherent goodness in him and they fall in love.

Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester confront the terrible secret harbored in the ominous tower that looms over Thornfield like an evil curse.
